Byron David Holt

Byron David Holt was born in Indiana April 15, 1848 and died at his home near Ellsworth, Iowa, July 25, 1906.

He was married to Margaret Long, March 23, 1874.  After living together for twenty years death entered the home and robbed him of his companion.  He was then married to Ida Sikes in Vinton, Iowa on September 21, 1892, moving from Vinton to Hamilton county, where they lived until death called again for separation.
The funeral was held Friday, July 27 in the Congregational Church at Ellsworth, Rev W.C. Cole of Jewell conducting the service.  Mr. Holt united with the Christian Church at the age of nineteen.  His faith in Christ gave him peace.  He leaves a wife and three children to mourn their loss.
