Don McBride has a new link for his webpage of a  Sikes Family  site which resides under the broad heading of California Families.  This site includes quite a lot of history and the lineages of some direct descendants (through John Jones Sikes) of Richard and Phebe Sikes of Springfield, MA with links to referring pages.

An excellent resource for headstone photographs can be found on Allan Wheatly's web pages hosted by Rootsweb.com.   Most of the photos are in cemeteries in Texas, but the collection is growing and many other locations are included.

Vicky Sikes  has established a Sikes web page at MyHeritage.com  The oldest ancestor on the site is Jonathan Sikes, of North Carolina and Alabama, who married Mahala __________.    This is a site where one can visit as a guest, or request an invitation to join.

The Russell County,Virginia GenWeb pages include quite a bit of information for the Levi Sykes Cemetery.

 Dr. Mark Sykes is Director of Planetary Science Institute.  His web pages are very interesting with fascinating reading.  

Maggie Blanck has spent many hours researching her ancestors who include Elizabeth (Sykes) Land.   She has collected records from many American and British sources, which she shares on her extensive web pages, The Family of Tom Blanck and Maggie Land Blanck.  You won't want to miss photos of people and places, as well as documents cited. 

Jim Sykes of Crossville, TN proudly announces a new web site for  The Sykes Families of Smith County, Tennessee.    Very good Sykes site.

Gayle Stanley has developed a Sykes family website dedicated to the descendants of Brice and Cora Jane Sykes of Dickenson Co., VA.

Wanda Sikes has posted the transcription of James Washington Sikes' family Bible to the Internet.  There is a lot of really good information on this page.

Dennis Taylor has created a web site devoted to his 2nd great grandfather, William Sykes.    A Reluctant Immigrant is a historical novel set in the mid 19th century  based on real life events throughout the lifetime of William Sykes, a convicted killer, found guilty of manslaughter, who served his sentence in and around Fremantle, Western Australia.

The Sikes Adobe Farmhouse is a State Point of Historic Interest and a City of San Diego historic site that is being restored by the San Dieguito River Park Joint Powers Authority to its period of significance.   Visit this site to learn more about the restoration project and  Zenas and Eliza Sikes from 1851 to 1881

Those Sikes/Sykes researchers with connections to the Bliss family of Connecticut  may find this biography of  Mary Bliss Parsons of interest.

Tracy Walker has put up a very nice genealogy web site which includes a page of Sykes, some of  whom married into families of Rose and Rushton.

Brian Edgerton is an Association member whose ancestry connects to the lineage of Richard and Phebe Sikes.  He has a super site devoted to the Edgerton family.

Pam Bretherton has a personal web site which contains information on her mother's Sykes lineage and will soon include additional data on the John Jones Sikes line.

Robert Sykes is a young man in England who has created a very interesting web page called Sykes Silly Site.  While it does not contain anything of a genealogical nature, I felt his work should be recognized and encourage you to visit his pages.  After all, this young man will be carrying on our family name.

L. Leigh Sykes has a web site containing a page in memorial to his dad, Lester E. Sykes

Mary Wrenn Ellis, has a family web page, which contains data on her North Carolina Sykes family.  She has some great photos on her pages, too.

The Kent Memorial Library in Suffield, CT has a page dedicated to Henry A. Sykes, noted architect.  The page includes a line drawing of Henry, his signature and a photo of the front of the Second Baptist Church in Suffield.

The Library of Congress web site has a section titled American Memory  which contains digitized items pertaining to Sikes (3) and Sykes (41) at the present time.  By selecting "Search" and entering the surname a number of highly interesting records including photos, WPA narratives, sheet music, journals and other references may be viewed.

Dorothy E. Adcox is Webmaster of  a site containing her Ancestral Surnames  including  a good Sykes page.  This site was recently recognized in Dick Eastman's On Line Genealogy Newsletter.
