Ruth (Berndt) Sykes

SYKES, RUTH (nee Berndt) October 1, 2009 at age 81; Beloved wife of 59 years to Frank R. Sykes. Devoted mother of Charles (Pamela), Terry (Linda), Robert (Julie) Sykes, Donna (William) Sherwood, Kevin (Joann), Todd (Renae) and Scott (Kelly) Sykes. Loving grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Gloria Geib. The family will be present on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at (Amherst Chapel) Amigone funeral Home, Inc.  5200 Sheridan Dr. (corner of Hopkins Rd.) where Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 8:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated from St. Leo the Great Church at 9:15am. Friends invited. Ruth was a member of the North Bailey Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxillary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Elm & Carlton Sts., Buffalo, NY.
